[Day 0.1] Will we escape Ian's Island of the Ill-fated before dying?

Our character wakes up disorientated to the shouts of local parrots screeching. Immediately something seems off as we struggle to our feet trying to gain our bearings. A sharp pain shoots through one of our legs, looking down we are mortified to discover it is impaled by a strange shimmering shard of glass that couldn't have come from our ship. Is this the object that crashed us here in the first place? We our broken out of our train of thought as we hear the parrots screeching something resembling the words, "Another one falls victim to Ian's Island of the Ill-fated". You swear you can hear giggling mangled into their screeches as they fly away gleefully. What a curious name we think to ourselves, but then it hits us, what is our name? Who are we? The fear of amnesia overwhelms us as we realise we have no recollection of who we are. One thing is for certain though, we must escape this wretched island.
