[Day 1] How will we respond to the Bandits?

It is beginning to get dark as we reach the final section of the wreckage we have left to explore. With daylight lingering a sense of cold suddenly overcomes us. Realising the wreckage will provide little coverage against the finger numbing cold we rush to finish our search of the ship for a source of warmth. As we hastily stumble into the last unexplored area a cold pressure is applied against the back of our neck. Not just any pressure, but the familiar sensation of a blade of steel. "Look what we have hear," exclaims an unfamiliar gravely voice, "It seems there was a survivor after all. What fun shall we have with this one?" We take a gulp as we slowly look around and see 3 scraggly bandits surrounding us. The one with the blade to our throat appears to be the only one with a weapon but we can't be sure. Our mind is racing. Can we take them? Should we run? Maybe they are actually friendly, although this seems improbable. Maybe there is another solution? What should we do?
