It works; it's fun; it's genuinely new. Yes/No prediction markets can only give limited information, whereas free response lets us learn much more detail about the future.

It's an interesting idea, but not that practical. There's too many related answers submitted, so it's hard to predict which will be chosen. Crowd-sourced answers are not much better than if the creator specified a few options of their own up front.
